L’ARPAC, a seguito di varie segnalazioni, compiute anche dall’Azienda Speciale ASEA ente gestore della diga, e grazie al pronto interessamento ed intervento del Comune di Campolattaro, ha eseguito apposite analisi delle acque dell’invaso, evidenziandosi nelle trascorse settimane la presenza di schiuma biancastra sulla superficie e sulle sponde del lago.

Fenomeno del resto non nuovo, essendosi manifestato anche negli anni scorsi all’incirca nel medesimo periodo estivo.
Dalle analisi e dal rapporto, segnalasi, altresì un valore tendenzialmente elevato di nutrienti e la presenza di Escherichia coli nel bacino (15000 UFC), quest’ultima indicatore di inquinamento da scarichi di acque reflue urbane e/o reflui zootecnici.
